Hotfixes and updates that were released as individual fixes:

Update Rollup 16 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 contains the following hotfix that was released as an individual fix:

    • 2509284  You cannot paste a date into the condition line on the Advanced Find page in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

Other fixes released via CRM 4.0 Update Rollup 16:

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create an appointment in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
    • You change the appointment in the Microsoft Outlook calendar.
    • You update the appointment in Outlook.
    • In this scenario, the system creates a duplicate appointment in the receiver's calendar
  • When you run the Account Overview report in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Microsoft Office Outlook, you receive the following error message:
    • An error has occurred. NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
  • When you try to add a Price List item to a product in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you receive the following error message:
    • There was an error with this field's customized event.
  • When you synchronize appointments by using Outlook in online mode or in noncached mode in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, all attendees become organizers. If a user deletes the appointment, the system generates a cancelation request in Outlook.
  • Assume that you create a custom report in an instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2008. Additionally, the report contains the CRM pre-filtering criteria. When you run the report, you receive the following error message:
    • Reporting Error. The report cannot be displayed
Error Number: 0x80040494 Error Description: The report parameter 'P1' is read-only and cannot be modified. (rsReadOnlyReportParameter)
  • The Rule Deployment Wizard does not verify the rules as expected if no user is named as "Administrator" in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. This issue occurs when the Exchange Server uses Portuguese as a language.
  • Assume that you register a plugin against a pre-sending email message or a pre-updating email message in a parent pipeline. When the plugin raises an exception to cancel the updating of the email message or to cancel the sending of the email message, the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Microsoft Office Outlook crashes.
  • When you install hotfix 2421203, you receive the following error message:
    • The update could not apply changes to the Web.config file.

    • However, the Web.config files are updated as expected.
  • Assume that an account name in a report is an integer number. When you run the report against a Quick Find search result in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you receive the following error message:
    • You must enter a whole number between 0 and 10.
  • Assume a user has only Read permission and Append permission in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. However, the user can remove members from a shared marketing list.
  • Assume that you run Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 against Internet Explorer 9 Beta. When you save a schedule, you receive the following error message:
    • Microsoft Dynamics CRM has encountered an error.
  • Assume that you try to attach a file to an account entity. If the file size exceeds eight megabytes (MBs), you receive an error message. In this situation, you are redirected to an arbitrary site in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
  • Assume that you create a workflow that contains a condition to check the recipient in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. If the To line contains an unresolved address for the intended recipient, the system does not process the workflow as expected.
  • When you edit an article page in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, the horizontal scroll bar is unavailable.
  • Assume that you use the auto resolution feature, and the auto resolution feature returns more than one candidate. When you set the value in a lookup field to a null value in an OnChange event in the Jscript code, you receive an error message that states a script error occurred.
  • Even though an appointment organizer has user-level access to activities, the system restricts access to the activities.
  • If a parameter-filter error occurs in the help contents page, a Microsoft Dynamics CRM error page does not appear. Instead, an ASP.NET error page appears.
  • In some Microsoft Dynamics CRM clients for Outlook, you receive a System.OutOfMemoryException error message after you publish customizations on a Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 server.
  • Assume that an email message cannot be sent to a user who uses the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for outgoing email messages. In this situation, the email message prevents pending email messages from being sent.
  • When you use the calendar to select the dates in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, the third Saturday and the third Sunday in October have the same date.
  • Assume that you use Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 in Internet Explorer 9 Beta. In this situation, the dynamic values of a workflow cannot be queried in the Condition Edit dialog box.
  •  When you create a new quote and then select a product by using a different currency, you receive the following error message:
    • The currency of the quotedetail does not match the currency of the quote.
  • Assume that a plugin creates a new record in offline mode. When you synchronize data from offline mode to online mode in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Microsoft Office Outlook, you receive the following error message:
    • The selected object could not be found. Verify that the object exists in both the database and Active Directory
  • Assume that you have an email message that uses UTF-8 characters. Additionally, the email message contains attachments. When you use Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Email Router to send the email message to a POP3 email address, the content of the email activity is unreadable.
  • When you run the Account Distribution report in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Outlook, a blank page appears. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
    • Microsoft Dynamics CRM has encountered an error.
  • Assume that you install Update Rollup 14 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. Additionally, you install the German MUI. When you try to provision the German language, you receive the following error message:
    • An invalid transition was attempted - transition information is EntityStateName = None, OperationContext = System, EntityType = Publishable, Operation = Update.

  • With Update Rollup 12 installed, the Rule Deployment Wizard supports Microsoft Exchange Server 2010

Internet Explorer 9 Compatibility

  • The Microsoft Dynamics CRM Sustained Engineering team has been extensively testing pre-release versions of Internet Explorer 9 and plan to, if necessary, release enhancements via the next several Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Update Rollup releases to support Internet Explorer 9.
